ROMANCE RECOMMENDATIONS

HAPPY (LATE) VALENTINE’S DAY! โค๏ธ

I know I’m late to the party but I made a list of my top 5 love stories for YA and NA each (+ a few honorable mentions, so more like top 16?) just for you guys.
Is this cheating? Probably. Do I care? Absolutely not ๐Ÿ’…๐Ÿป So… yeah. Hope you like them! (Or even better; have already read them and love them too!)

I doubt I need to introduce this since everyone seems to have watched it on Netflix.
This is one of my favourite YA romances because PETER KAVINSKY y’all. And I love Lara Jean too. And her family. It’s one of the rare times the fake dating trope was done right in YA.
P.S – my recommendation includes the whole series (obviously).

She helps out at her mom’s doll store which he visits to pick up a doll for his grandmother. Sparks fly, but since they seem to be of very different social standings, she’s reluctant to get too close to him.
This is my favourite Kasie West contemporary and I just loved the banter, snark and cuteness between our two leads.

They’ve been best friends forever but she never thought he could possibly love a little geek like her when he’s practically a soccer star. Desperate for her (female) best friend (+ mom) to stop setting her up on blind dates she convinces him to ‘fake date’ her.
See the title? Yeah that really does describe the book in my opinion. Also the Harry Potter references just make this even better.

A modern Cinderella story except… well geekier. Basically there’s a Con costume competition instead of a Royal ball, a movie star instead of a prince, and a case of texting without knowing each others identities.
I really liked this version of the fairy tale and loved the chemistry between the main characters.

When her best friend get injured mid-game, she gets a chance to replace him on the (boy’s softball) team and prove herself a capable player. She also has to figure out whether her feelings for him are just a phase, or something more; since it’s their friendship at risk.
I’ve always loved cute, sporty romances and this one’s no different. Also shout out to Santino and Neha who are the cutest.

He’s an escort with emotional baggage and she’s an autistic econometrist. They end up fake dating so her parents will stop trying to set her up with guys she’s not interested in, but it doesn’t feel (or stay) fake for long.
I absolutely adored Stella and Michael together. They help each other get through whatever issues one of them is dealing with, and are so freaking cute in the process.

She’s his best friend’s sister with a fragile heart and a penchant for running away. (And around the world) They’ve known each other since he moved in next door when they were kids, but only meet again when he’s assigned to renovate her grandmother’s house.
Darcy’s a real badass while Tom’s a ginormous softie and they work together so well. I loved how they knew each other so well and their cute backstories + inside jokes.

They’ve hated each other ever since she was 16 but have to put aside their mutual disdain and work together as partners in (ice) skating pairs if they want to win.
The constant bickering, and genuine concern for each other (later on) makes sure you’re invested in their relationship. Also shoutout to Jas’ family who are super hilarious + supportive. Which is the best combo in my opinion.

He’s always thought she was quirky and had a talent for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. She’s always been drawn towards him and had him on a pedestal ever since they met in college. They reunite after years of going their own ways through mutual friends/family and become best friends. And then something more.
JOSH IM YOU GUYS. WHERE CAN I FIND ONE. Hazel’s great too but like, JOOOSH. *major heart eyes*

She’s lost her phone (+ engagement ring) and finds a random phone in the bin to use as her replacement. Which is when he calls her. They end up talking to (and feeling things for) each other more than either anticipated, making her reevaluate her love life.
I haven’t read this book in a while but from what I remember Poppy and Sam are entertaining af and the whole story is just a lot of fun.

*eyes her TBR pile worried as it may come for even more after adding a ton of these to it* I loved To All The Boys I’ve Loved before, I still need to read the last book though, so I’ll need to reread the first two to get to the last one hehe. And Adorkable sounds well…ADORKABLE. I loved The Distance Between Us by Kasie West as well. Loved this list!

I adore Geekerella! It is truly one of the best Cinderella retellings out there. Plus, TATBILB is just so cute. (Btw, that and chocolates is what I spent my valentine’s day with)
Also, I’m so excited to read The Kiss Quotient – heard so many great things about it!!
